These images were passed on to me by
her husband. What a lovely lady she was. Below is some of the text from
his emails. "Dear Tom. Thank you so much for the lovely tribute to my wife. Gloria and I were married for thirty years.........wonderful and sometimes tumultuous years! Life was never dull, and I loved, and still do love her dearly. She was one heck of a woman, wife, mother and grandmother and is missed terribly. About eight years ago, she suffered a fractured right elbow in an accident on our Harley. The elbow never healed properly, and she was always in pain. Fans continue to send her photos to autograph and she always hoped someday she could. When I can, I will return as many as I can find." "I would like Gloria's fans to know how much she appreciated them. As I mentioned, earlier, she was unable to autograph photos, but hoped someday she could. She was very proud of her acting career and loved her work. She had even talked about going back to work as a character actress, and much as she would have loved to, her health would not permit it. I am attaching three photos for you to use if you would like. One is scanned from her driver's license at the age of 67. She never lost her beauty. Another is a snapshot that wastaken at about the age of fifty - all woman! The third is one of my favorites- taken ten months before her death with her two grand-children. She played a large role in the first three years of her Granddaughter's life, and it is remarkable the mannerisms she has picked up from her Grandmama, Gloria's favorite name for herself. She gave Gloria strength and the will to continue living while enduring a great deal of pain. This picture was used on her funeral remembrance card. She was a remarkable woman." "For the record, Gloria's grandfather, not great grandfather, was one of the founders of Glendale, CA. Dorothy St. was named after her mother, Louise St. was named after her grandmother, and Patterson Park (since renamed) was named for her grandfather." Patrick R. Mullally, D.D.S. |
